[ faith in others has never been a thing jack's been well versed in or fond of. it's an extension of trust that hasn't gone particularly well for him in the past, and one he was taught not to rely on. however, like he'd told mother, scott and d'artagnan, the neheda crew is his home now. if there's anyone on it he should trust, it would be gliese.
[ she'd told him something before - plant helplessness in yourself, and it will be difficult to uproot once it takes. advice he'd wished he'd understood when he was younger. he'd said michelle was the only one he'd do anything for anymore, and jack has to believe whatever this is, he'll live through it. everything else is temporary. ]
